A documentary about Reverend Troy Perry, founder of the Metropolitan Community Church — the first church to recognize the spiritual needs of the gay community. He was the first openly gay person to serve on the Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations. In 1969, Perry performed the first public same-sex wedding in the U.S., and in 1970 he filed the first-ever lawsuit seeking legal recognition for same-gender marriages. $3 donation appreciated -

Native American Banner Project Recognition Ceremony
Mechoopda and Konkow Hall Lawn Area, 4:00 p.m.
You are invited to a recognition ceremony celebrating the Native American Banner Project for California State University, Chico in collaboration with Mechoopda Indian Tribe of Chico Rancheria, Tyme Maidu Tribe of Berry Creek Rancheria, Estom Yumeka Maidu Tribe of Enterprise Rancheria, Konkow Band of Maidu Indians and Mooretown Rancheria of Maidu Indians of California.
This ceremony will take place on Nov. 3, 2009 at 4pm on the which is located behind the CSU, Chico Soccer Stadium. The event comes during National American Indian Heritage Month.
